IMPORTANT NOTICE2011 COOTHA CLASSIC POSTPONED
At the January Meeting of the HRCC Committee it was unanimously but regretfully decided to postpone the Cootha Classic for 2011, with the intention of promoting this important event in 2012 with more resources and possibly a revised date.
The projected weather pattern for the next few months, combined with the devastating effects of the current floods and our need to secure more permanent safety infrastructure have left the 2011 event in too much doubt to continue.
The Committee wishes to thank those who have already contributed substantially to the event, especially our major partners Brisbane City Council, Shannons Insurance and the combined local Rotary Clubs, and looks forward to the renewed success of the 2012 event.
It's been 94 years since a team of motor enthusiasts first climbed the hills of Mount Coot-tha. Last May 29th and 30th, the Cootha Classic welcomed over 600 vehicles - including historic cars and motorcycles, modern and prestige cars, karts, race and rally cars, as well as speedway vehicles to take part in timed competition, hill climbs, demonstrations and static displays! Visitors can see a variety of historic race and recreational vehicles from around the world, including Jaguar, Lotus and Porsche.
